Wanting to create custom report to track visitors

I am trying to create a report to track visitors to our church, but am having some difficulty.  My goal is to run a report showing people who have visited X number of times in the last Y weeks.  I've been able to do this using the reports function with the appropriate criteria set.  However, the standard "reports" available to me to display the results do not seem to be what I am looking for.  I'd like to use something like the "one-line" report, but that also shows the number of visits to-date, the date of the first visit, and the date of the last visit.  Is there a way to accomplish this?  I'm pretty new to Shelby, so there may be a simple way to add to the 'standard reports' that I just don't know about - but the provided help file doesn't seem to tell me how.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Chris,

You could use the Formatted (All) report in Selections and Listings to get the first and last visit dates by including the “Prospects – Visit Dates” field under Selected Fields.  Although the report does not give the total number of visits, it will list all the visit dates.  To get a one-line format, the report results can be exported to a CSV file by selecting the "Print to File" option on the Formatted report.

That sounds like what I need ... but, how do I get the "Formatted (All)" report?  The reports I have listed are:

    One Line Report (MB)

    Attendance Rolls (MB)

    Attendance to Date (MB)

    Class Cards (MB)

    OutReach (MB)

    Standard Cards (MB)

    Visitation Cards (MB)

Okay - I copied another SL report that used the "Formatted (All)" report - that solved the big problem but created a smaller one.  When I print to the printer and save the resulting file as a CSV, it is not formatted well for Excel - rather than a one-line report, it has the name on the first line and resulting data underneath.  Also, the "visit dates" are combined into a single cell since there is no comma separating them.

Alternatively, when I choose the "Save to File" option (which creates "format1.txt"), it creates a one-line report that would be very useful, except that it only shows a maximum of 5 visit dates, which correspond to the first 5 visit dates.  Thus, there is no way to see when their last visit date was, nor anything recent if they had visited 5 times in years past.

Is there any way to export all visit dates, each separated by a comma in a CSV?

    Thanks

    Chris,

I think the Word Processing report will give you the fields needed. Make sure you Include Fields Names in First Record  and Organizations.
You can open it up in excel and clean up the columns you do not need or create a word processing report to pull in only the fields you do need.

Interesting - it still shows 5 dates but it's the 5 most recent rather than the first 5 visit dates.  Certainly a better option.  Not perfect, but I think it will do.  Thanks!
