When going through year-end procedures and doing any data corrections in Shelby v.5, please make sure that backups are made BEFORE DOING ANYTHING. Also, verify that the correct database is being backed up. Never assume that ShelbyDB is the current database. Always verify by clicking Help > About from within any module and noting the Database Catalog.

Shelby v.5 - Description of Databases

Master Database - The majority of the v5 data is stored in this database. It needs to be backed up daily.

Purge Database - Contains data purged from the Master Database using Options for Purging History in Closing Procedures. Typically backed up before and after data is purged.

Financial registers and all scanned images are stored in corresponding Registers and Scans folders in the Shelby v.5 data directory on the server, e.g. C:\Shelby\SSV5.dat (verify by clicking Help > About). The entire Shelby Data Directory should be included in the daily backup routine.
